Mindful Yoga

At Mile High Residential Treatment & Behavioral Health, we offer mindful yoga classes twice weekly at each facility. Mindful yoga offers an opportunity for our residents to learn new life skills, such as breathing and self-reflection.

The class consists of various yoga asanas and breathing techniques to guide clients with checking in with themselves and their emotions.

While moving mindfully, we focus our attention on our breath. In time, our hopes for the practice are to aid our youth in cultivating a greater sense of self-awareness eventually, leading to self-regulation or emotion regulation, which can help with the ability to cope with life’s circumstances.

We feel mindful yoga is an essential tool in cultivating healthy relationships.

Interacting and working with horses can give our residents the freedom to express themselves and feel relaxed. Our residents can work at a local stable with a therapist who can guide them and help them communicate in a better manner.
